In
2004 John became conductor of the Lynmore Singers, a female voice
choir based in Enfield, North London.
The
Lynmore Singers is a long established female voice choir,
founded over 50 years ago. The choir meets once a week on Tuesday
evenings and rehearses for two hours. The choir has a regular concert
programme: this consists of at least two performances per term,
and extra performances approaching Christmas. The concerts will
often be for a charity or to provide entertainment to elderly or
disabled groups.
The choir
also performs more formal concerts in churches.
Under
John's directorship the choir is in receipt of an Awards for
All grant. This has enabled the choir to give concerts enhanced
by the backing of an instrumental group.
